Walmart Health & Wellness, Optical Doctor Contracts department leases space for Optometric businesses in Walmart and Sam’s Club stores. As an optional part of the license agreement, Walmart provides equipment and support services for the Optometric Doctors who rent space in those stores. Several Microsoft Access schema, forms, and reports changes force a Microsoft Access version upgrade and data migration with the final step being a Microsoft SQL upsizing project. The technology used: Microsoft Access, FMS tools (, Microsoft VBA, Microsoft SQL Server.


Automation reduces a two-day, two-person, labor-intensive process (that wasn't enjoyed by anyone) to a 5-10 minute process. At the end of the day, the professionals who used to gather, organize, and build the presentation were freed up to do other things. The technology used: Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Task Scheduler, Microsoft SSIS, Datawatch Data Pump, Microsoft VBA, and Microsoft Excel.
